what is Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a creative collaborative inquiry into your life.

A process of self-discovery that facilitates the natural unfolding of the Self towards connection, balance and growth.

The journey fosters the discovery of your innate potential and moves towards transformation and regeneration so you can become who you were truly meant to be. It helps facilitate understanding of how the experiences in our lives, including childhood, affect our emotional states as well as our thoughts and patterns of relating to others and ourselves.

Jungian Analysis

Jungian analysis, developed by the Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, seeks to establish psychological healing and wellness by aligning conscious and unconscious aspects of the personality. The unconscious has the potential to be a source of wisdom and guidance, an ally in the process of psychological development. It is designed to help individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves as a whole person. In a true collaboration analyst and client work together to explore unconscious material through stories, fantasies, dreams, body sensations, feelings and thoughts. Symptoms, psychological and physical, point to something being out of balance in our lives and some parts of us wanting to be known.

The goal of analysis is individuation - becoming uniquely yourself, a striving towards wholeness.

The analytic process allows you to engage and observe parts of yourself, even those that are denied, unrecognized, or unwanted, to fosters greater satisfaction and meaning in our lives. This deeper exploration of your inner life can release new creative energies and inner resources as well as help develop a steady presence in the world and an aliveness even in the face of challenges or difficulties.

Mind Body Integration

The health of the body and the mind are intrinsically linked.

There is natural wisdom in the body and mind-body integration taps into this innate wisdom to adapt, heal, and develop new capacities in life. What we don’t heal inside of ourselves may hold us hostage and keep us from greater freedom or presence. The mind-body connection can become compromised when a person is under duress in response to stress.

By learning to regulate emotions that are stored in the body through self-care experiences it can help change limiting beliefs and thought patters or behaviors. These limiting beliefs and thought patterns also in turn effect our emotional life. Through mind-body integration as part of psychotherapy you can feel more grounded and present and able to adjust quicker to difficulties. This can accelerate healing and lead to more lasting change.

It is a strange and wonderful fact to be here, walking around in a body, to have a whole world within you and a world at your fingertips outside you. It is an immense privilege, and it is incredible that humans manage to forget the miracle of being here…
